Online Yoga Classes

Hi folks,

I originally created an Online Kind Yoga Class for those who come to my regular weekly yoga classes, so that they could continue their practice while I was away in the USA for the Accessible Yoga Conference and Training in 2019.

This class, and others, are now available here for anyone who may not be able to make it to in-person yoga classes, for a variety of reasons, to be able to be guided through a practice at home.

A key principle of Kind Yoga is financial accessibility – so I invite you to enjoy these online classes free of charge, or you can make an optional donation using the buttons below if that is accessible to you.

KIND YOGA FOR YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

  • A yoga mat / towel / comfy surface
  • A chair (for Legs on the Chair, and hands-on-chair wrist / knee friendly options for Cat/Cow and optional Down Dog)
  • 2 or more pillows
  • 1-2 beach / bath towels
  • Optional blanket for warmth

What to expect:

  • A gentle movement and breath practice designed to soothe your nervous system
  • Options for sensitive knees and wrists
  • All floor work – no standing postures (if you’d like to work with a bit more balance / stability work check out the class video below – “Kind Yoga Class”)
  • An invitational approach (listen to your body, and choose the options that are best for you)
  • Unravelling your whole body and moving every joint in every direction
  • This class is most suitable for those who are comfortable getting down on the floor, no ‘up and down’ included

Class Duration:

  • 60 minutes

(Please note – I unfortunately encountered a slight technical glitch about half way through when the video freezes but the audio keeps going – I hope this isn’t too disruptive and you are able to follow along with my verbal cues).

KIND YOGA CLASS

What you might like to gather in preparation for this class:

  • A yoga mat
  • A chair
  • A couple of pillows
  • A yoga strap (or the strap from your bathrobe / a tie / a towel)
  • A towel or blanket
  • *Optional – 2 x yoga blocks (if you have them)
  • *Optional – a bolster (if you have one)

What to expect:

  • A gentle, mindful, beginner-friendly practice
  • Options for sensitive knees and wrists
  • An invitational approach (listen to your body, and choose the options that are best for you)
  • Unravelling your whole body and moving every joint in every direction
  • Some balance / stability
  • Some time for rest / stillness / restoration
  • This class is most suitable for those who are comfortable getting up and down off the floor

Class Duration:

  • 75 minutes

(Please note – I am by no means a video creator or editor, so working with my current technical abilities this is a ‘one-take’ effort. Apologies for that time the buckle from my strap hits the wall and makes a loud noise, and when my phone rings on silent and vibrates on the desk – I’ll get better at this with practice).
